Yearbook (1 credit) Elective 10-12
Teacher approval is needed.
Yearbook is a class committed to documenting all of the special events that make each school year unique. You'll get the opportunity to take pictures, design the theme and layout of the yearbook, sell advertisements and yearbooks, learn to write captions and text! You must be committed to finishing our yearbook, but there are a lot of great opportunities for you to create a lasting memory of your high school experience.
Intro to Graphic Arts (1 credit) Elective 10-12
This course will introduce you to two incredible software systems from Adobe to generate illustrations, enhance and modify graphics (and photography), and combine all elements to create a wide variety of designs, art, photo projects and much more! Adobe Illustrator is used to generate graphics and design. Adobe Photoshop is used to alter and modify digital photography. Students will touch on both of these software programs using the Creative Cloud package. Additionally, we will explore a variety of online graphic design programs and students will get to work with state-of-the-art industry equipment such as Wacom tablets. Students will spend 1 hour in class learning the basics of a variety of graphic design software systems and identifying potential career opportunities in the Graphic Design field.
Intro to Computer Science (1 credit) Elective 10-12
This is an ONLINE course - facilitated by an in person instructor
This course is designed to offer an introduction to computer science. Students will learn the basics of computer programming along with the basics of computer science. The material emphasizes computational thinking and helps develop the ability to solve complex problems. This course covers the basic building blocks of programming along with other central elements of computer science. It gives a foundation in the tools used in computer science and prepares students for further study in computer science, including AP Computer Science Principles and AP Computer Science A courses.
